Interpolated PVC

    Overview

    • PVC that occurs between two normal sinus beats without a compensatory pause
    • The PVC “interpolates” between regular sinus beats, so the overall RR interval stays nearly unchanged
    • Most commonly seen when the sinus rate is slow enough that the PVC does not reset the SA node

    EKG

    • Wide, premature QRS occurring between two normal QRS complexes
    • No compensatory pause (unlike typical PVCs)
    • Regular RR intervals before and after the PVC
